As a newly formed company created to meet the ever increasing investigative audit demands of the mortgage lending world, Mortgage Fraud Experts, INC. has brought together a unique combination of highly experienced individuals to form its core management team. Together, this team contributes a diverse range of skill sets that distances MFE, INC. from the competition. Individual achievements include past management level positions in underwriting, audit, investigative, and virtually every facet of lending. As such, the company is uniquely positioned to exceed the expectations of our new clients in meeting their needs for thorough, detailed mortgage fraud audit. A brief overview of each of our management team’s qualifications follows.
Jay M. O’Neill
President/CEO
Mr. O’Neill brings 37 years of lending experience to MFE, INC. His career in lending began in 1971 as a management trainee with ITT Financial Services where he rose to the level of branch manager. Collections and fraud detection were critical parts of his early training. His last institutional position was with the mortgage banking division of a federally chartered savings and loan where he served as a Vice President and Los Angeles Regional Manager of the mortgage banking division until 1985. Most recently, for the last twenty years, Mr. O’Neill has owned and operated his own company which began as a mortgage broker and grew to a full service mortgage banking operation. The company prides itself on never having had a loan repurchase in its many years of operation. This stands as testimony to the thoroughness of the company’s quality control standards and professionalism. These are the qualities and character which he brings to and instills in MFE, INC.
Timothy P. Volk
Executive Vice President
Mr. Volk brings 22 years of lending experience to MFE, INC. He has had a variety of management level experiences. He has held a California Department of Real Estate Broker’s license since 1991. Throughout his career Mr. Volk has hired, interviewed and trained literally hundreds of loan originators. As an owner of his own firm, he has analyzed thousands of loan files. The combinations of his experiences makes Mr. Volk uniquely qualified to recognize loan inconsistencies/fraud that might be missed in a normal audit.
Kimberly Timber, CPA
Vice President/Chief Financial Officer
Ms. Timber brings an aggregate 25 years of broad ranging experience to MFE, INC. Kim first earned her license to practice as a CPA in New York almost 25 years ago. Since that time she has developed her expertise in internal audit policies, procedures and in recent years has functioned as a member of senior management. Her last position was that of Vice President, Internal Audit for a large national lender. Prior positions held include nearly three years with the RTC in the 90’s as a supervisory accountant. Kim has held numerous audit positions with major accounting firms in New York, NY, Los Angeles and Newport Beach, Ca. This coupled with her extensive experience working with federal and state regulatory agencies, with fraud investigation and her managerial expertise brings a layer of professionalism to MFE, INC that sets the company apart from the competition.
Jerry Woodworth
Vice President/Fraud Audit Strategies
Mr. Woodworth brings 37 years of mortgage lending experience to MFE, INC. Over his career Mr. Woodworth’s experience ranges from loan origination to underwriting for several major lending institutions. As part of his range of experiences, he was even contracted to the Office of Thrift Supervision as an auditor for a 6 month period. Mr. Woodworth possesses the ability to meticulously analyze and audit a loan in finite detail well beyond that of any ordinary underwriter. This makes Mr. Woodworth a valuable asset to MFE, INC. in the day to day management of MFE, INC.’s audit staff.
Rob Robbins
Vice President/Quality Control
Mr. Robbins brings 25 years of mortgage lending experience to MFE, INC. His institutional lending experiences include writing underwriting guidelines and implementation, systems integration, investor approvals, appraiser approvals and oversight and final approval authority on bulk loan acquisitions. Rob also wrote the system for conducting the due diligence on bulk loan acquisitions. Rob is considered expert in his knowledge of computers particularly in the realm of mortgage lending and tracking systems. Rob possesses expert skill levels in Excel, Word, Crystal Reports, technical writing, and has achieved Administrator Access in MorVision, Mortgage Flex, Data Trac, Calyx Point, Eastern Software, and is a programmer on Data Flex.
Lori Campos
Vice President/Sales
With a 24 year background in all aspects of mortgage lending (Lori swears she started in the business at the age of 12), one would be hard pressed to find an individual of her caliber and experience. After beginning her career as a loan officer, she quickly gravitated to the operations side of the business as an underwriter. As she gathered experience, she became a Senior Underwriter and worked for a variety employers ranging from savings and loans, banks and mortgage banking firms. Her job history includes almost 5 years working as a contract underwriter for MGIC. Lori’s enthusiasm and work ethic is exceeded only by her vast knowledge of the mortgage lending business.
Jon Mossbarger
VP Network Operations and Security
Early on MFE, Inc. management recognized the need for maintaining our client’s sensitive data in the most secure environment possible. There are few better qualified than Jon. His background includes extensive experience in network security, intrusion detection and secure messaging. He has worked with both the U.S. Marines and U.S. Navy handling everything from secure messaging migration to network intrusion detection. He is SANS Level 4 certified and his military experience included working in a classified NOC environment. Jon has been awarded and maintained military level secret and top secret clearances. His past job titles include: VP Network/Systems Security, Director of Network Operations (in both civilian and military environments).
Steve Rocchi
Manager of Outside Investigations
Steve is nationally recognized as an expert in the field of signature authentication. He also currently serves as a reserve police officer with the Murrieta, CA police department. Through Steve, outside investigations are conducted through a national network of retired/off duty peace officers, detectives and commercial private investigators. Steve brings MFE, Inc. the capability to conduct outside investigations nationally through a variety of sources.
